Tumba campus was originally, the premises of ETO Tumba, and was annexed as the first campus of TCT in 2006. The initial academic activity of TCT started in Tumba Campus, at which time it consisted of the main Administrative block, Two-part enclosed style multi-classroom Block, A laboratory block, a multi-purpose building, Single-story students hostel and staff houses.

In the early 2009, additional two new blocks hostel buildings were completed and inaugurated. Thus far the new hostel blocks serves for accommodating the male students, while the older one is used to accommodate the female studentsSome additional staff building projects are almost completed. These have added in the size and community of the campus.

Tumba Campus also contains infrastructure and facilities to make her community enjoy some comfort and feel at home. These recreational facilities include sports facilities like football pitch, Volley ball pitch, badminton and basket ball facilities, Table tennis and snooker table. It also includes entertainment places like hillis restaurant. The Campus TCT management and Logistics office have also made sure that there is adequate supply of pipe-borne water, and stable electricity. The Campus has two telecommunication wireless cell sites belonging to MTN and Rwanda Tel respectively, in its close proximity, thus communication at the various levels of wireless modulation be it GSM or 3G, can be taken for granted within the campus.

Tumba campus hosted the inaugural ceremony of Tumba college of Technology, the main academic activities of TCT have been carried out from this campus, and it is obvious that the name of the college is derived from this campus.
