Students Associations or unions are typically characteristic of higher level institutions in most countries. In TCT it is not different. A pioneer student body that formed in TCT is the Tumba College of Technology Students’ Association (TCTAS). It is an umbrella association of all the students in TCT, once a bona fide TCT student has paid his association membership due, his/her status as a member begins and continues until the day of his/her graduation
The Association is composed of organic structure of four (4) chambers.
A general assemble
Arbitration committee
Committee for conflicts resolutions
And executive committee
TCTAS is generally managed by a board of management constituted from the above four chambers in accordance with the rules of its constitution. The Leaders of the association are elected from current members comprising of all students studying in TCT. Students Associations elected leaders make some contributions to advancement of an institution in one way or another like promotional awareness and good image of this college.
Their mission also includes the following
Conflict management and promotion of positive values through the strategy of cultural actions to both students and around environment of Rwandans to extent as the whole Nation and worldwide at large
Social communication through arts
Promotion of talent on the national level
Encouragement on academics studies in this college
To champion efforts and initiatives leading to opportunities for training workshops, technical events participations and creativity by students
To motivate other Associations who work under TCTAS towards purposeful objectives
To initiate developmental project of which can benefit both the students as well as Rwandans in general
