Five senatorial candidates from public institutions of higher learning held campaign session in Tumba College of Technology.

                   

On Friday September 16, 2011.The Rwanda National Electoral Commission (RNEC) held an activity in TCT in which candidates contesting for the single senate seat that will represent the higher learning of public institutions in Rwanda campaigned before the academics. The candidates were Prof. Deogratias BYANAFASHE, Prof. Etienne NTAGWIRUMUGARA, Prof. Emmanuel BAJYANA, Prof. Jean-marie KAYISHEMA and Prof. KANANGA Simba Ntale. Each candidate was given ten minutes to air out his reasons for contesting.

Generally they emphasized that teachers should be given time and financial support to go for further studies, they also touched on the need to reduce the drainage of human resources and make efforts to improve on the wellbeing of students in general by looking at some of the income generating activities. Finally the commissioner from Rwanda National Electoral Commission (RNEC) thanked the teachers for turning out in large number. He also thanked the candidates for not failing to respect the rules and regulations as required by RNEC.
