Mission of Hope Held Public Lecture in Tumba College of Technology about Girls Performance in Science and Technology.

                   

On Wednesday January 11, 2012.The Mission of Hope held a public lecture in Tumba College of Technology, mission of hope is a civil society that focuses on Gender mainstreaming in higher learning institutions. The Theme of the day was girls’ performance in Science and Technology. The lecture was given by guests that is Mr. Patrick MICO officer in charge of public awareness, accompanied by Mr. Jean Bosco NZABIRINDA.

The Discussant Mr. Patrick MICO told the participants that both girls and boys have got the same intellectual quotient and therefore told the girls that it is only for them to change their mind set in order to achieve their dreams. He also encouraged girls that they should concentrate much on science and technology because the Rwandan Education politics is putting much emphasis in science and technology.

The Gender Minister in Tumba College of Technology Students Union (TCTSU) Miss. Claudine IRANKUDA thanked the visitors to the public lecture given to her fellow students that it is very encouraging in as far as Gender context is concerned. She also narrated what the Gender Club has achieved in the college like opening some of the Gender clubs in Primary and Secondary Schools around the college.

On behalf of TCT community Mrs. Yvonne GIRAMATA, the Dean of Students thanked the students to have participated in such an important event. She further advised the students in general and Gender Club in particular to expand their activities even beyond the college. She also promised students to work hand in hand in order to achieve their goals. She finally thanked the visitors on behalf TCT community to have actively responded positively towards this public lecture.
