Minister of Education and a delegation from Burundi visited Tumba College of Technology



The Minister Dr. MURIGANDE, TCT Principal Engr. GATABAZI, Burundian Delegates and others as the Minister listens to explanations about solar water heater fabricated in TCT.

On Monday April 26, 2011.The Minister of Education Dr.charles MURIGANDE and a delegation from Burundi led by Burundian minister of higher education, research and science Professor Julien MUBONA visited Tumba College of Technology. The Rwanda’s minister of education was also accompanied by Mr. Robert BAYIGAMBA, the president of private sector federation in Rwanda. The main purpose of the ministers’ visit to Tumba College of Technology was to share experience between Rwanda and Burundi in the fields of technical and vocational education. The minister appreciated achievements of the college during its few years of existence because the college is now four years old.

The principal Tumba College of Technology, Eng.pascal GATABAZI, made a brief presentation that gave general information about the college to the visitors. He further thanked the Government of Rwanda and Ministry of Education for its endless support to technical and vocational Education in our country.

The honorable guests visited different sites in the college including the Department of Alternative Energy mechanical workshops, Solar Energy water heater and pump, and electrical machines laboratory, CISCO laboratory, networking and software development laboratories in the Information Technology department and also Electronics and Telecommunication laboratories where there are sections for microwave communications, fiber optics technology, radio technologies and robotics technology. After visiting the sites, the Guests were highly pleased and the delegation from Burundi appreciated what TCT is doing. In his own words Professor MUBONA said that the purpose of their visit to Rwanda was to exchange ideas and to learn from what Rwanda is doing. He also mentioned that they have identified TCT as a school of excellence in the development of the country and therefore they will send their students to study at TCT and He finally thanked the Government of Rwanda for its effort put in Education sector.
