The Director General of Workforce Development Authority (WDA) visited Tumba College of Technology on a familiarization tour.

On Wednesday August 3, 2011, The Director General of Workforce Development Authority (WDA) Jerome GASANA visited Tumba College of Technology. He was accompanied by the Director of ICT in the organization, David MUGUME and Charles SEKANYAMBO in charge of Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) School development. The main purpose of the Director General's visit to TCT was to familiarize himself with the developments in TCT, since He is new in his office.
The principal Tumba College of Technology Eng. Pascal GATABAZI made a brief presentation that gave general information about TCT to the visitors. The principal thanked Workforce Development Authority (WDA) on its support to the Technical and Vocational Education in our country. The guests visited different sites in the college including the Department of Alternative Energy mechanical workshops, solar energy water heater and pump and electrical machines laboratory, and Biomass laboratory, CISCO laboratory, networking and software development laboratories in the Information Technology department and Electronics and Telecommunication department's laboratories where there are sections for microwave communications, fiber optics technology, radio technology, robotics technology. After visiting the sites, the visitors were highly pleased and appreciated what has been done by TCT. The Guest of honor Jerome GASANA further advised the college to start part-time programme in Tumba, in order to help the people around the school including Government employees, He also advised the school to use oracle software and use one centralized system for better performance and participate in Education week that will take place during the first week of October 2011.
