The TCT clinic was established in January 2008, and from then the clinic has continued to acquire more facilities and drugs to the extent that today it is very capable of providing primary health care to sick candidates. The primary health care strategies of the clinic are

  • prevention and control of locally endemic diseases
  • provision of adequate basic sanitation
  • appropriate treatment for common diseases and injurie
  • It is in the mission of the clinic to ensure that in nearest future it has established medical baseline and database resource for the students, with which progress can be measured in future. For this reason the clinic also performs activities like

    • Preparation of patient care plan e.g. patient registration
    • Observation  and  recording of patients conditions
    • Wound   treatment  and monitoring  of  vital  signs
    • Administering  of drugs
    • Maintenance of patients’  records
    • Quick  Response to emergency cases

At the moment TCT clinic has a working agreement with Tumba (apeki) Health centre which allows it to refer patients to the health center for treatments requiring laboratory diagnostics and medical doctor’s attention. In this collaboration  all students  are  obliged  to get  medical  insurance to  facilitate them  to  reach  to hospital  in  case  of transfer for  medical  checkup.

A plan is in process to equip TCT clinic with a laboratory in the near future so that diagnostic tests can be carried out within the clinic, thus reducing the period and stress between consultations and therapy for patients including students.
