The Department of Alternative Energy offers the following programmes

Diploma in Alternative Energy

This is a two and half year programme consisting of courses in areas such as Biogas technology, solar energy technology, industrial and domestic electrical installations, micro hydro power technology, and improved cooking stove technology.  These courses are undertaken in the first four semesters while the final semester is reserved for industrial attachment, where the student can get additional hands-on-skills training.

To qualify for this programme intending students ought to have obtained Rwanda National Examination Council’s A2 certificate in sciences or Technical Studies.
